Summary/Objective
The Sr. Buyer position is a hands-on position responsible for coordinating purchasing, warehousing and distribution activities and resources to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service and safety. Examine existing procedures and opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs. Direct the movement, storage, and processing of inventory.
Responsibilities:- Establish strategic partnerships and supplier relationship improvements: discover and pursue ways to reduce inventory, reduce part costs, reduce lead time, improve terms, supplier consolidation, in a government purchasing and contracts environment
- Search out and pursue better and more cost-effective ways to procure components and materials for existing production
- Source new components with limited direction by engineering, service, or other departments.

- Develop procedures for coordination of purchasing with other functional areas, such as sales, engineering, finance, and
- Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or
- Implement new or improved purchasing and shipping & receiving
- Design and implement business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction
- Manage activities related to strategic purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or
- Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material and production
- Collaborate with other departments to identify or qualify new
- Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
- Design and implement plant warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products.
- Responsible for the purchase requisitions that implement procurement policies with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery and cost improvement that is required of the government contract.
- Coordinate with equipment engineers to procure required preventative maintenance services, hardware, software, calibrations, supplies, gases, and chemicals.
- Interface with suppliers and vendors regarding statement of work, quotes and price negotiation.
- Responsible for confirmation of tools, parts and service meet customer specifications and requirements.
- Assist key process engineers on special projects guiding them and the supplier to make sure all requirement needs are being satisfied.
- Manage outsource services such as Ion implantation, EPI deposition, CMP, photomask generation, photomask cleaning, and wafer analysis.
- Work directly with buyers regarding purchase orders, order acknowledgments, shipping, sole source justifications, receiving and invoicing.
- Assist with managing and monitoring, prepared, administered, and analyzed the control of the budget, inventory control, bill of material and forecasts.
- Process contract renewals; prepare proposals, providing support to the customer on developing and implementing proposal strategies.
- Manage the document control, procedures, filing and record system of the purchasing documents.
- Responsible for performing contract assignments in support of procurement activity or in the audit/review of that activity.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Operations or
- At least 5 years of supply chain management and relevant experience related to government purchasing.

Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
