Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for developing and/or analyzing of reports used to monitor business activities and drive key business decisions by creating/maintaining meaningful financial KPIs. Individual will ensure the production of reports on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly) and will be expected to perform data quality review prior to distribution. Will be responsible for completing requests received from members of the management team or line mangers for ad hoc reports, which will need to be prioritized and collaborative with teams to complete the deliverable. Successful candidate must have strong statistical and critical thinking skills, as well as be adept with task prioritization. Ability to think outside box, detailed oriented and collaborate with teams. Individual will coordinate with IT departments, most often with the Encompass team. Reports created will generally be used internally, but on occasion, may be included as part of presentations to investors or warehouse line creditors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the design, creation, management, analysis and delivery of reports related to the Production Operations at Community Loan Servicing.
  • Prepare/ensure delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and ad-hoc reports required by both internal and external stakeholders used for items such as:
  • Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking
  • Complete Comparative Analysis
  • Operating & Financial performance
  • Incentive Plan Calculations
  • Make recommendations for edits to or the creation of new reports based on interaction with managers and/or observation of business needs.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into reporting deliverables
  • Assemble and analyze data for business reports, ensuring data and calculations are accurate
  • Examine reports to locate and resolve errors
  • Assist team with dashboard generation
  • Perform ad hoc analytical requests and research projects as requested by management
  • Annual compliance training (company policies & procedures)
  • Other duties as needed or required.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (not just a data gatherer)
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of MS Access, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain focus
  • Must be comfortable in a high paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong knowledge of Encompass, Business Objects a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems or related field
  • Experience with SQL, Access, and Microsoft Excel required
  • Previous experience in an analytical/reporting role
  • Mortgage, financial services, or real estate industry preferred
