Job Title: Sporting Goods Associate

Reports To: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service centered around meeting the customer’s needs
- Ensure that the salesfloor is maintained in a neat, clean, and organized manner
- Present merchandise that is accurately priced and fronted
- Replenish product availability by merchandising new and existing freight
- Maintain efficient and organized stock room
- Promote sales by building creative displays, showcasing seasonal product availability and value
- Monitor and rotate date sensitive product to ensure timely sell through
- Foster a safe and productive work environment for associates and customers
- Diligent in protecting company assets
- Follow all SOP guidelines and company policies
- Complete 4473 and Acquisition and Disposition paperwork with 100% accuracy
- Ensure firearms are displayed and handled appropriately
- Complete accurate daily firearm count
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Meets age requirements to sell firearms (21years of age in IL,18 years of age in MI, OH, IN, WI)
- Possess valid FOID card in IL to sell firearms
- Legally allowed to sell firearms
- Basic knowledge in firearms, fishing, and other outdoor activities
- Knowledge of Federal/State firearms and hunting laws
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Reading, Comprehension and Writing Skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail experience
- Age 18 or older in Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio
- Age 21 or older in Illinois
- Not a felon, or a felon whose rights to possess firearms has been restored (requires passing deeper background check than standard)
- Illinois residents only: possess a valid FOID card

Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The position does require frequent lifting of merchandise. It is expected that the employee lift safely, using proper body mechanics and lifting devices. When lifting heavy items, up to 50 pounds, a team lift may be required.
