Job Description
Overview:This position will be a mix of inpatient and outpatient care for adults (including the acute rehab unit as well as throughout the hospital). There is potential for outpatient pediatric services as well. There is also potential for the position to eventually be more than 24 hours per week if the business need arises.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Speech Therapist assists patients in the restoration or development of swallowing, speech and communication functions through evaluation and treatment.Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Masters Licenses/Certifications: Respective state license and clinical certification, Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC), by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), unless completing Clinical Fellowship Year. CPR certification within 90 days of hire Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience as Speech Pathologist Valid state driver's license, as verified through the respective state Department of Motor vehicles driving record abstract. Other requirements/information: Analytical ability to administer and evaluate standardized speech/language tests, conduct swallowing evaluations, evaluate patients' capabilities, develop treatment plans and monitor patients' progress.
