Brookline Early Education Program (BEEP) seeks a speech and language pathologist as a long term substitute position (full time) to support the communication needs of prekindergarten students (3 to 5 years old). The speech and language pathologist will provide professional services to a variety of students with complex medical needs, global developmental delays, and weaknesses in articulation, receptive, expressive, and/or social pragmatic language development. Experience with assistive technology, social skills curriculums, feeding therapy techniques, and linking therapy to classroom objectives and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks is required.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Providing speech and language therapy services to students as specified by their IEPs.
- Consulting with general education/special education teachers, and specialists regarding student needs, accommodations, modifications and best practices.
- Completing and presenting comprehensive speech and language assessments.
- Attending IEP meetings.
- Monitoring student progress through the collection of data.
- Writing IEPs and progress reports.
- Designing and implementing small group intervention to support communication skills and social competencies.
- Working with students with augmentative communication devices.
Requirements Qualifications:
- MA DESE License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills required to input IEPs and progress reports, document student progress, communicate electronically with parents/staff via district email and assist AAC specialist with successful implementation of assistive technology devices.

- While performing the duties of this job, the speech and language pathologist is continually required to stand, walk, sit, run, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, crouch, talk, hear, smell and see. The employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- 2 years related experience
