Job Description Summary:

Processes Network Provider claims including, but not limited to, payments, denials and rejections. Works closely with other departments as needed to accomplish this goal.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Documents and saves patient-specific Agreements with out-of-network agencies.
  • Produces, prints and works each of the following spreadsheets: contract agencies, partial payment, adjustment and denial.
  • Processes contract agencies claims.
  • Processes denials
  • Produces Providers’ Explanations of Payment
  • Process Provider payments for payments made by patients via outside collections
  • When appropriate, submits Requests for Adjustments from HomecareNet (HCN).
  • Adjusts duplicate claims from HCN and MAS-90
  • Mail Provider checks, Explanations of Payment and denials.
  • Transfers all claims improperly set up in HCN (self-pay to agency responsible or from agency responsible to self-pay)
  • Manages weekly check runs.
  • Processes and saves weekly EOPs.
  • Supports the Claims Resolution Specialist(s) by assisting with incoming calls, assisting with the appeals process and assisting with claim status inquiries as needed.
  • Completes month end closing activities per assigned deadlines.
  • Bills as needed
  • Performs other duties assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: i.e. hiring, recommending/approving promotions and pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, discipline, etc.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent

Preferred experience includes: basic knowledge in the home health care field, previous reimbursement or claims processing experience

Basic Qualifications & Interests:

Strong organizational and time management skills

Proven success paying careful attention to detail and completing work accurately

Effective communications skills for interacting with clients, payers, and co-workers

Proficiency in typing, data entry, telephone etiquette, and computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office

Initiative to plan for and complete daily activities with minimal direction from supervisor
