Job Summary:The Specialist, National Team High Performance will assist National Team (NT) athletes and coaches in their pursuit of international success through provision of expert performance services.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

- Provide direct in-field performance services to NT athletes and coaches including:
- Expert feedback on all technical components of swimming.
- Race analysis data and information.
- Video services in training and at competition.
- Pre-competition and in-competition data and analysis at major domestic and international competitions.
- Develop strong working relationships with NT coaches and athletes through regular interaction and proactive communication. It is essential that the Specialist, NT High Performance become a trusted resource to the NT community.
- Assist in the development and evolution of the National Team Division’s (NTD) race analysis and race data services.
- Assist with performance planning for major international competitions.
- Stay up to date on developing technologies in the swimming and training world(s) and make recommendations for appropriate integrations to the NTD’s services.
- Maintain an understanding of trends in international swimming and in the swimming analysis community to ensure that USA Swimming is on the cutting edge of service provision.

- Bachelors’ degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years swim coaching experience or 10 years swimming experience with a minimum of 2 years working in a swim coach capacity
- Ability to travel up to 30%-50% of the year both domestically and internationally
- Willing to relocate to Colorado Springs, CO
- Understanding and experience with international level swimming including stroke technique, details (starts, turns, etc.), race strategy, and high-performance goals required
- Experience setting up and operating sophisticated camera equipment (camcorders, GoPros, etc.), or the ability to learn the equipment within the first six months of being hired
- Experience with race analysis software, video sharing/playback platforms, and Apple products, or the ability to learn these functions within the first six months of being hired
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and laptop usage
- Understanding of data analysis and development of data analysis systems preferred
- Familiarity with performance analytics and database management preferred
- Experience and/or familiarity with developing analytics systems preferred
- Experience coaching or working with international or elite level athletes preferred
- Understanding of biomechanics, particularly as it relates to swimming preferred
- Ability to collaborate with both athletes and coaches to provide information and opportunities and develop productive working relationships with people of all ages, experience levels, and personalities
- This role does not provide coaching or instruction
- Ability to always maintain professionalism to ensure a strong representation of USA Swimming and the National Team
- Salary range for this position is $70,000 - $77,000 / year
- Bonus Eligibility: Based on company performance, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus target of 7.5%
