We are growing and are in need of an aggressive; compensation-oriented Solutions Sales Manager to sell Seagate System solutions in the South Central region. - In this key sales position, the Solutions Sales Manager will be responsible for fostering end-user sales, pursuing quality leads, and establishing joint meetings with prospects and value-added resellers. The Solutions Sales Manager will play an integral role in introducing Seagate Solutions to the market and proactively ensuring that Seagate VARs are well equipped to succeed selling our systems solutions. Using professional innovation and tenacity, the Solution Sales Manager will establish and nurture sales pipelines specifically for systems, delivering a cutting-edge mass data storage solutions.
- Must be located near a major city with access to an international airport, estimated 50% travel
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively pursue and manage new leads to develop end-user sales opportunities and build a solid Seagate systems pipeline for Channel Partners/VARs
- Proactively build and nurture partner relationships to effectively advance partner development
- Meet regional sales financial objectives by maximizing partner activity to drive sales revenue
- Effectively qualify new leads to determine product fit based on environment; gauge early discussions to determine interest and confirm sales opportunity before engaging field engineering resources
- Execute sales presentations and joint meetings with end-user executives/IT management and partners, effectively answering any sales and high-level technical questions
- Weekly pipeline progress reporting to Director of Americas System Sales
- Persuasively present and demonstrate Seagate products’ sales and technical attributes
- Up to 50% travel to visit partners/customers in support of sales requirements, working closely with the support and engineering teams to ensure customer satisfaction
- Engage directly with customers on both technical and non-technical levels to drive a superior sales experience
- Experience in implementing solutions or managing storage solutions (ex. Cloud, HPC, M&E, Higher-Ed, Backup, Archive, Storage Resource Management (SRM) or Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) experience with Application, Network, Disk and Tape integration)
- Knowledge in Data lifecycle management
- Knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP networking and data transfer protocols, NFS, SAN and S3.
- Must have experience working in a channel driven sales model
- End-user sales experience
- Experience in the Data Storage Industry, 2-3 years preferred
- Confidence explaining archive solutions and technical features without relying on a product technical expert in early meeting stages
- Proven ability to build a significant pipeline to meet or exceed quarterly requirements
- Demonstrate a high-level track record in Channel Sales with success in driving customer/end-user market adoption of new technology, enterprise technology preferred
- Strong negotiation skills, ability to foster active relationships while protecting the bottom-line and margin profitability
- Demonstrate an aptitude for learning new technology quickly and have the ability to teach system features to unfamiliar parties
- Experience using Salesforce to manage and report on territory sales pipeline and activity
- Excellent communications skills: verbal and written
- Confident, polished, and effective presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field or equiliant experience
