What you’ll be doing.

The VCG Entertainment Product Engineering team is seeking a Solutions Architect to support the definition and execution of the product roadmap in video and gaming. This is an excellent career opportunity for a professional with an impressive architectural design background and excellent interpersonal skills.

• Product realization, identifying technology leading innovations and trends to help shape the roadmap and vision, and ensure market competitiveness.
• Technical liaison with the commercial teams in defining, facilitating, and negotiating business requirements and product definitions.
• Establish technical requirements and viable architecture based on business requirements.
• Lead the conversation & decision on build vs buy with commercial and development teams.
• Provide architectural blueprints and technical leadership to support the product roadmap.
• Provide budget prioritization, and revenue realization.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform.
• Collaborate with peer organizations, development, quality assurance and third party vendors to produce innovative software solutions and roadmap execution.
• Interpret business requirements to articulate the business needs to be addressed.
• Continuously learning best practices, industry landscapes and emerging technologies, and applying them to develop innovative business solutions.

What we’re looking for.

You are an accomplished professional with hands-on experience designing and architecting complex software and systems, a self-driven, resourceful individual who is driven by inquisitiveness and a natural collaborator. You have excellent communication skills with the ability to speak effectively to both internal and external stakeholders. You have a data driven approach to decision making and are familiar with standard analytics and reporting tools.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Six or more years of experience designing solutions and products.
• Knowledge of web application development and frameworks, network protocols, security, and open-source technologies.
• Experience creating architectural artefacts and design documents.
• Experience leading cross functional teams, in large projects with complex architecture, across many technical and business teams.
• Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, data visualization and BI tools.
• Working knowledge and familiarity with each step in the product development life cycle.
• Experience with all business aspects of product including understanding of business model, business cases, finances, and timelines.
• Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A master’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience working with relational and no-sql databases.
• Experience designing and implementing solutions that are scalable, reliable and highly available.
• Experience with online video, and cloud gaming products.
• Project management experience.
• Strong architecture experience with the following: Microservices architectures, Event-driven architectures, APIs, Domain Driven Design, Public Cloud (AWS), Serverless, Kubernetes, Docker.
