Job Description

SunnyMac Solar is seeking energetic and detail-oriented crew members with all levels of solar, construction, or roofing experience to join our team as a Solar Installation Technician. Our ideal candidates are professional and progressive self-starters with exceptional communication and safety skills, a “can-do” attitude, and an eagerness to learn and grow in the exciting field of solar installation.
This is a Full-Time Solar Installation Technician Opportunity

  • Must be able to work proficiently and efficiently on high, angled rooftops
  • A Clean and Valid Driver’s License is required for insurability

Job Functions of the Solar Installation Technician role with SunnyMac Solar:

  • Assemble and install Photovoltaic (PV) Solar systems to design in accordance with industry/local codes and standards
  • Review blueprints and specifications to understand and implement system install
  • Inspect and test materials and electrical components for defects.
  • Identify and address electrical, environmental, and safety hazards
  • Verify installation for proper wiring, polarity, grounding, and integrity of terminations.
  • Apply identification labels and tags
  • Maintain tools and equipment

Qualifications and Experience for the Solar Installation Technician role with SunnyMac Solar:

  • Electrically and mechanically inclined
  • Proficient following directions in written, verbal, and diagram form
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold)
  • Comfortable working on rooftops (not afraid of heights)
  • Comfortable working in tight spaces (attics, crawlspaces)
  • Can stand, bend, stoop for a minimum of 8+ hours per day
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work on various grade rooftops
  • Must be physically able to stand, bend, stretch, pull, and lift 50 pounds throughout the workday
  • Must be able to safely use and maintain power tools
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, verbal)
  • Personable and outgoing
  • Punctual and willing to work long hours
  • Team player able to work independently when required
  • An-ongoing learner seeking long-term growth

Ideally:

  • Current OSHA Certification is a PLUS!
  • Any Solar, Construction, or Roofing experience is a HUGE PLUS!
  • Must have a clean and valid Driver’s License (for insurability purposes)
  • Should be willing to provide a recent copy of your DMV record
  • Should be willing to complete a background, reference, and DMV check
