As a technical strategist on the Partner Engineering team within Card Services, you will drive complex technology initiatives and deliver measurable results across the Chase Co-Brand portfolios. You will be at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, so your experience understanding product roadmaps and business goals will be critical. You will be responsible for providing technical information with a strong ability to help business stakeholders, product managers, and multiple engineering teams to make informed decisions. You will help identify opportunities to develop scalable, reusable solutions that are broadly applicable while expanding our customer & partner value propositions. As a strategist, you'll work with engineering teams to ensure that partner solutions are elegant, resilient, easy to integrate with and of the highest standards, as well as managing the technical relationship with our partners as they integrate with our solutions. You will play an integral role in making sure that partner initiatives deliver on time, within budget and in accordance with firm-wide risk & architecture guidelines.

Minimum qualifications for this role:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in a technical or business discipline
  • Experience with building APIs (RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, Web Services)
  • Familiarity with agile software delivery methodologies and modern programming languages; in particular, the Java/J2EE stack
  • Working knowledge of SQL & log analytics scripting
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and build / align execution plans to technology strategy
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic
  • Strong communications skills & ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence collaboration tools

Preferred qualifications for this role:
  • Product management, software engineering, or business stakeholder experience developing technical products and digital customer experiences in the financial services industry

  • Intermediate knowledge of architecture & application design processes
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices

  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages, e.g. Java, Python, JS (React, Node.js, TypeScript)
  • Any experience managing external partner relationships
  • Strong bias for action; ability to take ownership and think long-term
  • Passion for identifying & automating gaps in processes
  • Understanding of financial controls and budget management
