The successful software engineer is highly motivated, an intuitive hands-on troubleshooter, and has a passion for programming. Ideal candidates should have 3-5+ years of relevant experience. Exposure to automation and control systems engineering are additional potential attributes of our ideal candidate. This position, working at a fast-paced startup, is ideal for a self-motivated individual looking for a challenge to learn a variety of technologies and to become a full contributor on our team.
What you will get to do:
Work with senior software and automation/control engineers to expand your knowledge of industrial analytical software and learn the tools and technologies used to create our products.
Develop sophisticated real-time analysis software for display and adapt them to meet the needs of our customers
Create deeper analysis projects that control our analyzers and extend our proprietary analysis software for deeper patterns and process analysis
Integrate various software components to work together in meeting custom needs and general design goals
Assist Software, Controls, Manufacturing and other types of engineers with industrial automation hardware and software tasks
Work closely with the engineering and manufacturing team to plan the execution of builds, installations and startups with customers.
Requirements
- B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline
- 3-5+ years experience as a Software Engineer
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of self-education when knowledge gaps are discovered
- Demonstrable programming or scripting experience using Java, Python, or a similar programming language
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a team environment on multiple projects simultaneously
Your bonus qualifications – a couple of these are a plus but not required!
- Knowledge of or experience with Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform
- Experience with IntelliJ IDEA or JetBrains tools
- Experience with databases such as Postgres or MySQL
- Experience or general understanding of industrial automation
- 1 year of experience working in a start-up environment
