We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with TypeScript, NodeJS, Java and Spring Boot experience to join our Agile team to develop cutting edge, innovative backend products.

GRM US Products and Underwriting is building new features and capabilities to provide our customers with the fastest and simplest way to view, ingest and use our complex policy data. You will be working with a team of engineers to help create the brand agnostic Policy Search and Retrieve Platform.


We are looking for a talented backend developer to join us in enhancing our products and capabilities. This is a highly visible space that is growing every day as the internal demand for retrieving policy data in a canonical model grows. By combining the latest architectures, tools and technologies we enable and empower you to learn about, discover and replace components as you grow within the team.

NOTE: This is a range posting, and candidates will be considered for Software, Senior, and/or Principal Software Engineer roles. The actual grade for this role will depend on the candidate's overall experience and skill level.


What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborating closely with a team of software engineers to deliver complex software solutions
  • Working in an agile environment with business stakeholders, product owner, solutions engineer and other software engineers to review and refine stories and execute on them using excellent engineering practices
  • Using your technical knowledge to analyze technical system problems and design and implement effective solutions
  • Hands-on development and problem resolution, writing clean, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews
  • Embracing and modeling engineering excellence and best practices
  • Contributing to the development and growth of the team
  • Being curious and innovating through the use of new tools and techniques
  • Providing periodic off-hours production deployments and support
  • Optimizing performance for the applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong desire to providing customers excellent policy data
  • Enthusiasm and excitement to work on a team with great people!
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and quality standards.
  • Familiar with microservice architecture
  • Some experience with GraphQL is beneficial

Experience or knowledge of the following:

  • Functional Test Frameworks
  • JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks and stacks (Node.js)
  • RESTful Web Service consumption and design.
  • Exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts (bamboo)
  • Agile and Scrum development methodologies
  • Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards
  • Experience with layered system architectures and layered solutions; understanding of shared software concepts
  • Extensive knowledge of a business function(s) and of business operations
  • Excited about new and emerging technologies
  • Negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills
