Responsibilities:

NCI: As the Software Asset Management Manager, you will act as manager of the software asset management staff at all locations supporting all organizational staff members in within the Joint Service Provider (JSP) user community and you will interact daily with the customer to ensure productivity and provide resolution to software asset management issues that the end-users may have with existing desktops, laptops, software issues, and other critical needs. As the Software Asset Manager you will apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments; Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments; Provide configuration management planning; Describe provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits; Regulate the change process so that only approved and validated changes ae incorporated in to the customer infrastructure. Manage the workforce predicated on analytical and planning experience and using sound judgment, as well as the application of pre-established workflow procedures and instructions to identify research and resolve problems. Highlights of Responsibilities:


  • Manages a team technicians providing myriad software asset management services
  • Leads multiple functions within an organization’s logistics department
  • Analyzes, organizes, plans and administers various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more programs of moderate scope
  • Analyzes contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements
  • Develops logistics plans in order to enhance distribution of goods and supplies
  • Identifies, prioritizes, and assesses key logistics assets and infrastructures
  • Assists in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control
  • Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and analyzes requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times
  • Responsibilities may include vendor selection and negotiation, distribution of supplies as needed, and inventory control
  • Leads and directs the work of others
  • Oversee processing of customer software requests to meet contractual AQL requirements and to ensure accurate disbursement of software licensing.
  • Ensure team processes and procedures align with DoD Guidance and industry best practices
  • Maintain an authoritative software database that tracks purchase, usage, license type, license version, license keys, maintenance and assignment information including organizational owner
  • Implement strategies to centralize license management, reduce duplication, and adopt software management best practices; identify the tools that will support inventory management, tracking and reporting
  • Maintain a software library containing all software procurement documents including contract awards, proofs of purchase (invoices and receipts) and license keys
  • Use network management tools and financial and accounting systems to verify, validate and report on software inventory, installations and usage on JSP managed networks
  • Maintain an authoritative software list and software asset library for all license software licenses and software maintenance purchased, deployed and in use
  • Identify software and software maintenance to be retired; retire and dispose of specific software licenses and software maintenance according to software manufacturer procedures and Government guidance
  • Conduct software license reconciliation (procured software licenses versus installed software licenses) using JSP provided tools to ensure software compliance
  • Identify software and software maintenance to be renewal. Perform analysis, collect customer’s requirement to determine software renewal. Prepare, submit paperwork and track renewal orders
Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Clearance Required: US Department of Defense (DOD) issued Secret clearance
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into asset management issues and issuance of assets as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to generate or develop reports in various formats (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).


Required Education and Experience:

  • Required Experience: 4+ years of related experience.
  • Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
  • ITILv3 Foundation minimum certification preferred.
