Job Description

We are looking for a Software Architect Independent Consultant to lead our team.

Intrepid’s continued growth is creating the need to enhance our current Contract Management System (CMS). We are looking for an innovative SW developer with strong architecture experience to reimagine our current system into a fully scalable and enhanced enterprise solution. The system will provide both internal corporate capabilities and a public-facing web application for vendors, subcontractors and other external stakeholders. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who will come in and work with the team to understand current capabilities, identify the current limitations, and reimagine the development of CMS 2.0. You must have the ability to design, develop, test, and publish Intrepid's future Contract Management System (CMS). You will have the support of a small team of developers and work with stakeholders across our Contracts, Program Control and Accounting Teams to interpret and integrate contractual, functional, and technical requirements into the new system. Once the enterprise baseline is in place, future development of increased capabilities and efficiencies will be ongoing. Candidate must be capable of solving complex software problems and architectural challenges within a team environment.

As a consultant in this role you will:

  • Design and implement CMS architecture and roadmaps
  • Evaluate, identify, and develop software solutions
  • Lead software development projects
  • Document and elaborate on each aspect of an application or software
  • Train and oversee the activities of members of the development team
  • Plan, track, and schedule software deliverables
  • Locate and direct solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interface
  • Investigate and discover problems within software systems and resolve the issues
  • Conduct software system design activities and reviews
  • Provide technical expertise over the course of the software development life cycle
  • Ensure architectural solutions meet technical requirements and functional objectives
  • Ensure technical designs comply with standard architecture guiding principles
  • Assist in automating the building and deployment of CMS applications
  • Review existing system architectures and recommend improvements
  • Lead engineering reviews to determine any ambiguities in architectural design solutions
  • Scrutinize change requests to determine work effort
  • Comply with company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Assist in the development and continuing improvement efforts to establish CMS 2.0 as Enterprise Class capability

At a minimum you should have 10+ years of development experience with proficiency in:

  • Database development
