What you'll be doing:

  • Complete thorough and accurate assessments of applicants and/or licensed foster families per established time frames.
  • Complete special evaluations of licensed foster homes and develop thorough, accurate recommendations and corrective action plans, as applicable.
  • Create and implement effective plans to recruit and/or retain foster families, including recruitment presentations, recruitment materials, newsletters, special events, awards, gifts of appreciation, and support groups.
  • Schedule, prepare for, and provide pre-service training for prospective foster parents frequently and at times convenient for families, as well as consistent, ongoing training for licensed foster parents.
  • Provide orientation for prospective foster families, ensuring great customer service to facilitate the application process, scheduling times convenient for families.
  • Obtain referrals and thorough intake information, and assist in making placements in compliance with rules and policy.
  • Participate in or facilitate inter-agency or intra-agency meetings.
  • Complete data entry into all data management systems as required, as well as keep paper files accurate, complete, and in compliance with policy, rules, and state law.
