Job Description

We have an immediate job opening for an exceptional Social Media and Marketing Manager at Phunware. Located in Austin, TX, this role is responsible for social media program implementation through content creation, conversation monitoring, metrics, analytics, and current trends in support of the company's product and revenue goals. The Social Media and Marketing Manager will also develop and manage marketing programs in specific channels, support business objectives, lead acquisition, foster customer retention, support direct and indirect sales, provide sales support, and help develop collateral for the sales organization.

The Social Media & Marketing Manager will be responsible for evangelizing and implementing social media strategy across all areas of the company. He/she will be responsible for integrating social media tactics across all of Phunware’s industry solutions and advertising programs with the goals of driving thought leadership and engagement. He/she will work closely with lines of business social liaisons, and the marketing team to support initiatives and uphold standards throughout social platforms.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate cross-functionally within the sales and marketing teams
  • Serve as a go-to, on-demand resource for last-minute presentations, proofing email campaign copy or a competitor update
  • Utilize marketing automation and CRM tools to track, test, and analyze campaign performance
  • Writer/editor - create and edit marketing content
  • Manage strategic and tactical social programs including content creation for multiple social channels, updates, photo selection, proofreading, and overall brand consistency across social platforms
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and other departments to develop social media content
  • Monitor social conversations and engagement across all social networks
  • Responsible for brand consistency across communication channels to ensure accuracy, quality, and a single look and feel in the marketplace
  • Search for relevant thought leaders and organizations to follow and engage with
  • Track and collect relevant social media metrics and ensure timely, effective, and efficient reporting of all social media efforts
  • Maintain the content calendar for all social channels
  • Assist in educating employees on how to incorporate relevant social media techniques into both corporate culture and marketing efforts
  • Support channel department by working with our partners to support marketing needs
  • Build marketing programs to support specific marketing objectives across different channels and segments in support of our overall strategic marketing plan
  • Propose and manage marketing research projects to generate consumer insights in support of improved marketing strategy and communications
  • Organizing promotional events and conferences
  • Help with training new employees and onboarding staff
  • Work with design to make sure collateral meets department guidelines

What You'll Bring:

  • 5-7 years in B2B content marketing roles
  • A deep understanding of the modern marketing funnel and inbound marketing strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; good copywriting/ editing skills
  • Experience with Salesforce (CRM) and/or HubSpot (CRM)
  • Good humor, enthusiasm, team spirit, and nimbleness. Nothing is ever “not your job” or “not your problem.”
  • Fanatical attention to detail, passion for the written word, obsession with crafting the perfect message for your audience
  • The ability to digest and support multiple buyer journeys and sales motions
  • Independent thinker, able to formulate a course of action based on direction
  • Proven active involvement in and knowledge of social media activities such as blogs, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn groups, RSS feeds, etc.
  • Familiarity with SEO and Google Analytics
  • Willingness to travel as necessary
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking

Bonus Points For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a similar field preferred
  • Experience in inbound marketing or B2B marketing for mobile development, mobile advertising or key verticals (Healthcare, Retail, Sports and Entertainment, Hospitality, Residential) is a plus
