Remote Nonprofit Social Media Marketing Volunteer/ Internship (Unpaid)
Description
This is an unpaid volunteer/ internship (1 to 3 credit hours for college credit) Byrne Ocean Conservation is currently seeking a Social Media Intern to work from home supporting our team to develop and implement outreach and promotional campaigns to boost brand engagement and increase revenue to support our programs.
The duties and responsibilities of a Social Media/ Marketing Intern include:
- Create an annual marketing calendar - Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote company brand on various social media websites
- Post daily company updates to various social media channels
- Research current marketing strategies
- Create content for programming, special events and camps
- Maintain and update communication channels (websites, mass mailings, etc.) * Create Infographic reports
- Perform related Marketing activities/efforts at the request of the President
- Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
- Ensure our customers have the latest information about Byrne Ocean Conservation and the Water Warrior Alliance
- Assist in educating and informing our audience about products and services and company programs; St. Pete Ocean Sweep and Camp Coral
- Create and distribute content such as blog articles and posts on social media and traditional news outlets
- Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability and send reports to President
Qualifications
- Pursuing bachelor’s in marketing or related field preferred
- Impeccable oral and written communication skills
- Experience with the major social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Snap and Google+
- Knowledge of social media analytics software including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics and Twitter Analytics to track audience engagement and campaign performance
- Experience with photoshop or other digital editing application preferred. Benefits

Essential Functions
Work will be performed from home. Work assignments vary based on client requirements.
Physical Requirements
Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of working with computers and phones. Equipment and Machines General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance
Assignments to be completed weekly, Zoom meetings will be scheduled a few days a week and reports will be required as updates of your progress.

Candidate must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area. This is an unpaid opportunity.
