Kessen Veterinary Clinic is looking for a Licensed Registered Veterinary Technician OR a Veterinary Assistant to join our bustling Small Animal Team. Kessen Veterinary Clinic is currently a fast-paced 3-doctor veterinary practice. We are excited to add an additional member to our energetic team! Our goal with our veterinary technicians is to allow them to be a part of every aspect of our clients’ experience. Daily challenges include, but are not limited to patient appointments, laboratory testing, radiology, and laser treatments. Ideally, this position would lead into assisting with surgeries and dentals.
TECHNICIANS: We do require a degree from an accredited veterinary technician program. Priority will be given to individual already licensed or preparing to take the board testing.
ASSISTANTS: When applying for this position, experience within the veterinary field is REQUIRED.
Compensation is based on experience. Saturdays are required. Please send us your resume!
Education Requirements (for Technicians)
- Licensed Registered Veterinary Technician (Preferred)
- Associate’s Degree (Required)

- Is well spoken and approaches his/her job duties in a mature nature
- Is experienced in a teamwork approach and works well with all levels of team members
- Has excellent client communication skills
Physical Effort:
- Work requires lifting, carrying, and restraining animals
- Walking and/or standing for extending periods of time; frequently works in a bent position
Working Conditions:
- Will be exposed to unpleasant ordors, noises and animal feces, urine, vomit and blood. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases
Duties/Tasks:
- Can provide compassionate care to patients & clients
- Can effectively communicate with existing and potential clients
- Can keep accurate medical records in accordance to hospital policy
- Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or stay focused on individual tasks
- Can prepare & maintain exam rooms and treatment areas
- Knows all common vaccines and vaccination protocols and can explain to clients
- Can effectively restrain pets, even when large or difficult
- Can explain necessary follow-up and homecare instructions
- Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility, does not hesitate to clean or organize as part of a normal job duty
- Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $16.00 per hour
