What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a highly motivated individuals to join our Guest Services team as a Shuttle Driver. The ideal candidate uses their engaging personality to create a memorable first impression for our guests and employees as they arrive and throughout their stay. In offering a warm welcome to our hotel/resort, the Shuttle Driver assists with the unloading of luggage and provides a source of knowledge for everything about the hotel and the local area as they transport guests and employees.

BASIC FUNCTION: The Shuttle Driver will provide courteous, safe and reliable transportation to resort guests and associates at the direction of the resort management and to ensure arrival and departure times are being met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for safely driving guests or associates to their destinations.
  • The ability to adhere to strict transportation schedule.
  • Must be punctual to all pickups and drop-offs.
  • Assist guests with luggage, parcels and inquiries.
  • Effectively communicate with dispatch to ensure timely pickup of guests.
  • Be conversational with guests, remembering that the Driver will be a lasting impression for the guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness of property vehicles and report any maintenance needed to the Front Office Manager every day.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance checks and keep mileage logs.
  • Fuel vehicle after each time used.
  • Must maintain good driving record and report any violations to Front Office Manager within four days.
  • Attend all necessary meetings.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Cross trained as a Bell Man and Valet Attendant
  • Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime, or reduced hours.

ENVIRONMENT:
  • Driving and sitting in a vehicle for long periods of time from one location to another, with frequent stops in which the Driver will be required to step out and assist with luggage, and/or parcels. Constant guest/employee contact.
  • Exposed to all four seasons’ (outdoor weather), will spend some time indoors with controlled temperature, hard indoor and pavement surfaces, outdoor lighting and indoor artificial lighting

What are we looking for?

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid CDL license. Passenger endorsement recommended. (Will provide for right candidate)
  • Previous driving experience.
  • Ability to read maps and follow GPS applications.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures of the road.
  • Ability to drive in diverse road conditions and chain vehicles in the event of a snowstorm.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, shopping, bars, and restaurants is preferred.
  • Ability to drive long distances, such as to Mitchell Airport or O’Hare International Airport
