Job Title: Show Choir - Assistant Music Director
Reports to: Director of Student Activities
Terms and Conditions: Part-time, 3-5 hours per week during the school year.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: Per Faculty Senate contract, level 5 stipend, $3,446 at entry level, pending contract negotiations.

Oak Park and River Forest High School, or OPRF, is a comprehensive public high school located in Oak Park, Ill., a suburb eight miles due west of downtown Chicago. We are a one-school district, with the majority of our students coming from two sender districts, River Forest Public Schools District 90 and Oak Park Elementary School District 97. We offer more than 200 courses, a variety of programs for students with special needs, 75 clubs and activities, and 29 competitive sports. We prepare our students well for post-secondary success, with an average ACT composite score of 24 and a 94% graduation rate.

Position Summary:
Noteworthy is where students combine choral singing with dance movements and perform at OPRF as well as in the community. This position is for the Music Director Position.

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading or teaching students in areas of music.
  • Ability to recruit and maintain diverse membership.
  • Ability to establish leadership board within club.
  • Experience in the areas of the club.
  • Ability to meet sponsor expectations as stated in Student Activities Sponsor Handbook.
  • Organized and have positive attitude.
  • Collaborative.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 3-5 Hours per week.
  • Oversee students at all meetings and Field Trips/Performances.
  • Attend Sponsor Meetings and meet expectations given by the Student Activities Director.
