Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

We are looking for a new colleague in the Materials Department at our Plant location in Lafayette, Indiana.

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily direction and leadership to the team members in the Shipping & Receiving Area of ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Steering Systems Plant on 2nd Shift
• Accountable for staffing and training, developing a teamwork-oriented environment and building departmental standards for performance
• Responsible for the shipment of product to customers both internationally and domestically
• Ensure that materials shipped and received are verified against pertinent documentation
• Establish and maintain procedures for meeting company and customer delivery commitments
• Recommend and assist in implementing operating procedures and follow shipping methods for materials using those procedures
• Resolve emergent issues for expedited deliveries to the customer
• Coordinate shipment of goods by scheduling containers to meet shipping demands
• Interface with other departments to resolve problems with timely delivery or to disposition order cancellations
• Involved in scheduling and tracking of all inbound and outbound shipments
• Ensure that daily goals are met and sustained daily/weekly/monthly
• Ensure company policies and procedures are reviewed often and notify the Materials Manager when such policies or procedures may need to be revised to increase work efficiency
• Oversee all incoming, outgoing and warehouse movements
• Ensure that all manufactured products and raw materials are effectively managed to meet all US and foreign government export laws and regulations; Ensure accuracy and proper retention of all export documentation; Manage company’s compliance with applicable US and foreign export regulations
• Occasionally create bills of lading for outbound shipments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Minimum of 4 years of shipping and receiving experience, including knowledge of and experience with foreign and domestic shipping functions, required
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required
• Must be able to work 2nd shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel required
• Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• SAP experience strongly preferred
