Other Fun Facts: Our Shipping Clerks' regular hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Where they get two paid 15-minutes breaks and an unpaid 30-minute lunch for an 8-hour shift.

We are located in Schenectady right next to Proctors, so there are tons of places within walking distance to grab lunch.

You will be working with a small team of 3-4 people on the first floor. Right above you, on the second floor, is our beautiful office.

Take your breaks in our kitchen/breakroom (socially distanced tables) where we have fruit, tea, hot chocolate, and not just coffee but an Espresso Machine!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Shipping Clerk will assist in vendor and customer relations. As well as, help coordinate incoming and outgoing shipment activities.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES*:

• Verify all incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Receive shipments in ERP System.
• Handling and disposition of materials and keeping warehouse inventory current.
• Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
• Maintains warehouse in neat and orderly manner.
• Assists with government packaging requirements.
• Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities, such as, sales, records control and purchasing.
• Researches OSHA regulations & hazardous materials regulations

COMPETENCIES:

• Good organizational and analytical skills.
• Focus on safety.
• Ability to follow through on tasks to completion.
• High degree of initiative.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Personal Computer skills including, Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
• Government contract experience a plus.
• Good Customer/Supplier relations skills.
• Export knowledge a plus.
• Hazardous material experience a plus.
• Sage 100 (Mas90) experience a plus.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
• Experience using Fed-Ex software a plus.
• Experience using a pallet jack.
• Valid Driver’s License.
