Job Description

SUMMARY

Follows established procedures to perform various duties related to the preparation of outbound shipments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares accurately and completely all shipping documents sore all FTL, LTL, and PTL shipments for company fleet and commercial carriers
  • Any other job-related tasks assigned
  • Setting delivery appointments with customers before the ship date
  • Quoting/booking LTL (TMS: Transportation Management System) and FTL (Full Truckloads) email shipments.
  • Prepares customs paperwork for Canada shipments
  • Ensuring a shipping schedule is followed per Master-Planned Production Schedule
  • Coordinating warehouse loaders to ensure quick/proper loading for trucks
  • Review staging products for shipping
  • Obtain drivers signatures on all outbound documents
  • Participates in scheduling of daily transportation.
  • Keep clients posted on the status of delivery of their orders.
  • If delays or unexpected situations arise, provide a heads-up, and do what is necessary to minimize inconvenience.
  • Communicate with departmental leaders about daily activities to help others within the organization remain in the loop and make educated decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with customer shipping policies and procedures per routing guides.
  • Generate packing slips and create labels for all pick tickets.
  • Prepare USPS, UPS, FedEx, and other carrier shipment labels.
  • Assists in responses to requests for tracing of shipments.
  • Assists in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in the shipping area.
  • Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Works with third-party logistics to provide on-time and accurate delivery
  • Confirms accuracy of all proofs of delivery


Job Qualifications/Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of related experience or equivalent
  • Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of SAP a plus.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
