YOUR ROLEThe Henkel Bowling Green, KY manufacturing facility is looking for top talent to lead our facility to Best in Class performance levels and culture. We have a clear 3-5 yr journey laid out to build capability and deliver results using the process Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS). If you enjoy working with others and have a passion for improvement, come join our winning team! This position will lead the Production / Shift Team activities for one of our departments (cells) and report directly to the Department/Cell Mgr.
- The Shift Manager will lead a team of up to 30 Operators, Mechanics and Leads on your shift to deliver daily performance and build long term capability
- Member of the department/cell leadership team
- Coach your shift Team to improve the key performance indicators (KPI’s) and deliver targets, including Safety, Quality, Production Plan, Cost, and People Development
- Lead and coach daily management systems (DMS), including line boards, defect tagging, PM schedules, center-lining and clean & inspect (CI) standards
- Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities through 5s, Lean manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodologies
- Help develop standard work processes and procedures
- Establish a strong working relationship with the line teams, department/cell team and plant leadership team
- Support data integrity and output reporting of line monitoring system (MES/Tableau)
- Support training and skill development of hourly associates and area leaders
- 4-year degree in Engineering or similar degree Preferred
- 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, consumer products and packaging preferred
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, and listening skills
- Direct supervision experience, including coaching, motivating, team building, performance evaluation, recognition, and time & attendance
- Strong technical problem-solving skills to help troubleshoot equipment failures and direct resources.
