The Shareholder Services Specialist I is responsible for providing various contact center and transfer agent functions. This position requires mutual fund knowledge and will interact directly with shareholders, financial representatives, team members and management.

The Shareholder Services Specialist I is responsible for providing various contact center and transfer agent functions. This position requires mutual fund knowledge and will interact directly with shareholders, financial representatives, team members and management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
SHAREHOLDER & FINANCIAL REPRESENTATIVE SUPPORT
- Answer questions regarding existing mutual fund’s serviced. Knowledge obtained from mutual fund websites, fund literature or performance reports and regulatory documents will be utilized to answer questions
- Answer questions regarding existing mutual fund shareholder accounts. Knowledge obtained from the transfer agent recordkeeping system will be utilized to answer questions
- Input basic trades into recordkeeping system
- Input basic account maintenance updates into recordkeeping system
- Learn and utilize compliance procedures, desk policies and legal requirements
- Learn and utilize state specific forms and documents
- Learn and utilize voice communication platform
- Learn and utilize transfer agent recordkeeping and workflow system
- Learn and utilize call performance standards and guidelines
- Learn and utilize online portals
- Daily contact with shareholders, financial representatives and broker-dealer firms
- Daily contact with internal teams and departments regarding follow-up inquiries, open workflows, etc.
- Daily contact with members of team including senior and lead associates
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of mutual funds and retirement plans preferred
- Ability to comprehend, retain and explain services, company policies and legal requirements to shareholders and financial representatives
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities
- Effective written, listening and verbal communication skills
- Effective problem solving and organizational skills
- Provide excellent customer services to all callers using proper phone etiquette
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Minimum of an Associate’s in Business Administration, Finance or related area required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Series 6 or 7 license required or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment
- 1-3 years (relevant) experience in client service or related field required
- Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
