A Serviceman performs all phases of overhead and underground electric service installation, repair, and maintenance. They investigate and resolve customer quality issues and tree problems, replace blown fuses, perform switching and clearance operations, and maintain security and District lighting.QualificationsApplicants must have the following:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Journeyman Lineman and possess a Journeyman Lineman certification recognized by IBEW.
- Class A CDL (or obtain within 60 days of employment)
Must have knowledge of, and familiarity with, a wide range of equipment including booms, man-lifts, bucket trucks, forklifts, etc. General knowledge of safety policies and practices related to line construction and maintenance.
Applicants must possess the ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively, communicate effectively in oral and written forms and to complete paperwork and reports as required. Display the ability to explain NESC rules and regulations, establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers, and effective direct the work of others.
Must be willing, available, and responsive to 24-hour call outs for emergency situations.
Applicant will be required to have a response time of 10 minutes or less to the Nehalem Warehouse located in Bayside Gardens and must have reliable cell phone service at place of residence. These conditions must be met within 6 months of appointment to the position. The District will not be responsible for any relocation costs.
