Job Summary

The Service Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the work crew and all activities on the work site. This position is also responsible for continuous client interface, and clear communication with the project management team. Will assist in job planning & preparation, coordination & selection of equipment, procedure review, and mobilization. Responsible for execution of tasks as assigned by the District Manager, Project Manager, and/or other Management. Specific job tasks would include but not be limited to hydrostatic testing, pipeline pigging/drying, N2 leak testing, hydraulic bolt torqueing, and field machining (cut/bevel). Works under general direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct and perform field services in accordance with work plan, procedures and/or SOP, and ability to distinguish the work at hand from the work plan/procedure and how to proceed while making field decisions to drive the project
  • Oversee a large crew and direct the work and task needed for the job from start to finish
  • Ability to train and develop Service Technicians and Lead Service Technicians.
  • Operate high cfm air compressors, triplex pumps, centrifugal pumps, desiccant dryers, nitrogen units, torque equipment, pig launchers/receivers
  • Perform hydrotesting using high pressure test pumps and set-up and monitor data equipment, flow meters, stroke counters, etc.
  • Perform/direct cold cutting, beveling, and field machining using portable lathe machines
  • Service, repair, maintain, and test equipment as needed for the job
  • Knowledge and proven ability to operate equipment and to train employees on such equipment.
  • Service, maintain, repair, and test equipment/ tools for pre/post jobs or as instructed in shop.
  • Write or participate in writing JSA’s for job task assigned.
  • Participate in training on other product lines and services.
  • Participation and Compliance with BlueFin HSE and Quality Management System.
  • Comply with all company policies (Safety, quality, general, SOP’s, etc).
  • Conduct all activities in an accountable, respectful, and professional manner at all times and fully support the completion of work in accordance with BlueFin quality and safety standards.
  • Required to work on both land and offshore jobs.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers both office and field related.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Available 24-hour call (except for scheduled vacation).
  • Travel through United States and Gulf of Mexico; staying overnight for extended periods.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience – 10 years’ experience in the oil/gas equipment industry preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Knowledge and proven ability to operate diesel driven triplex pumps, air compressors, desiccant dryers, torque pumps/wrenches, centrifugal pumps, portable lathe field machines and to train employees on such equipment
  • Knowledge of rental/ service equipment design and specifications.
  • Detailed knowledge on the mechanics and operations of all equipment.
  • Ability to influence and motivate team members
  • Ability in producing reports, policies, procedures and plans
  • Ability to travel offshore and internationally
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
  • Ability to effectively plan and set priorities.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to safely use and operate a forklift
  • Computer skills (especially Microsoft Office programs, i.e. Excel and Word)
  • Ability to accurately keep track of asset maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with Management and clients.
  • Ability to provide leadership and motivate staff.
  • Provide a work environment that engages safety, positivity, creativity, responsibility, and teamwork
  • Travel up to 100% through United States and Gulf of Mexico; staying overnight for extended periods
  • Fit for duty exam required
  • Perform physical labor in hot, cold, and demanding environments
