Maverick Gaming™ is dedicated to creating the best possible gaming experiences for every kind of player and currently owns and operates a portfolio of 27 properties across Nevada, Washington and Colorado with a total of 1800 slot machines, 350 table games, 1020 hotel rooms and 30 restaurants.
The Server greets customers at their table, describes evening specials, takes guest orders, inputs orders into computer, and serves the guest. Cleans tables after completion of meal and resets table for next party.
How You'll Succeed
In this role you will:
- Greet guests in prompt courteous manner and thank guest upon departure.
- Take customer orders for food and beverage.
- Suggest food and beverage selections and creatively up-sell items.
- Communicate with kitchen and co-workers regarding length of wait, re-cook orders and any food allergies or dietary needs.
- Place all orders into computer system in a timely manner.
- Serve and clean tables in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstation and floor station at all times.
- Clear off and clean tables after each use and make sure they are properly set.
- Comply with company and department policies and procedures.
- Stock side station with required stock as needed.
- Promote positive guest relations.
- Perform related and/or other duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience and knowledge that includes:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Previous experience with cash handling, preferred.
- Six months experience as a server, preferred.
- Ability to speak and write English fluently.
- Maintain a clean uniform and personal appearance.
- Understand guest’s service needs.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Must be a team player with the desire to assist all co-workers.
- Ability to carry trays with food or dishes that can weigh 10 to 20 pounds and carry it with one hand in the upright position, balanced on one shoulder for approximately 20 to 30 feet.
- The ability to memorize daily specials and answer questions concerning casino promotions.
- Actively promote and personally observe safety and security procedures, and use equipment and materials properly.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position typically works a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
