The Senior Vice President will serve as the Client Relationship Leader responsible for building interwoven programs which may include advertising, scientific and data milestones, branding and positioning, digital and social strategy, corporate communications, clinical trial recruitment, internal communications, KOL development, advocacy relations, executive visibility, approval and launch communications, patient and HCP engagement and public affairs. This person will have a deep understanding of client subject matter, an ability to think strategically to solve for client business challenges and drive innovative communications solutions. An ability to effectively manage, mobilize and mentor teams is critical to success in this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build mutually beneficial working relationships with client partners, providing sound, strategic counsel to ensure progress, action and results that maintain and grow the business
  • Manage intermedia teams to develop strategic programs that meet client goals
  • Work with leadership team to expand strategic thinking and identify growth opportunities
  • Oversee development of complex, strategic scientific communications plans and high-level deliverables (e.g., yearly planning)
  • Manage account financials and partner with practice lead to effectively manage budgets and staff
  • Ensure team meets deadlines, manages priorities and effectively communicates to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Fully master the Spectrumtific Method/other client service methodologies
  • Demonstrate and nurture agency values and principles
  • Participate in agency activities and professional development opportunities; communicate areas for improvement
  • Supervise staff and play an active role in their professional development; identify and champion both account-specific and agency-wide visibility opportunities for self and team members
  • Contribute to new business opportunities

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in communications, English or similar major
  • 10+ years of agency experience, with a focus in health and science
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Deep understanding of client subject matter, industry landscape
  • Oncology expertise preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and/or accounts simultaneously
  • An extreme attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to excel in a team environment as well as work independently
  • Resourceful and effective problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
