Opportunity Overview:

The Design Thinking Center of Excellence within the Firm Strategic Enablement Office will lead the firm's transformation of building human-centered capabilities that focus on client, branch team and associate experience. We are looking for a candidate that is passionate about delivering phenomenal customer-centric experiences, showing proven success in ownership, bias for action, and thinking big. We are looking for an Analyst that has experience using design thinking to discover and deliver solutions and is a thought leader in the application of data and business analysis to human-centered design challenges. You'll be joining our diverse team of problem solvers that employ design and systems thinking to conceptualize and develop high-impact, creative outcomes for market impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate viability analysis within cross-disciplinary design thinking teams, ensuring business outcomes and success metrics are defined and tracked.

  • Facilitate firm senior leaders through strategic transformational workstreams that include, but are not limited to, digital reinvention, client experience and design, branch experience and design, smart operations, predictive analytics, new services delivery, and data strategy.

  • Assess market and competitive landscape to understand firm priorities and identify opportunities for Technology to add value

  • Understand Edward Jones Technology transformation journey and develop thought capital to continuously evolve and enhance the value proposition

  • Excellent insight and practical knowledge of digital products and service and the overall digital ecosystem

  • Influence project teams to define and solve problems leveraging data and insights through both a user-centered (desirability) and business (viability) point-of-view.

  • Effectively communicate in verbal and written venues to present strategic opportunities, aligned to firm strategy/goals/objectives, define business cases, and develop strategic roadmaps that clearly articulate the journey toward an ideal end-user experience and business outcomes.

  • Partner with subject matter experts, business owners, and those skilled in multiple business process disciplines (e.g., Agile, Design Thinking, Lean Six Sigma, project management, research) to define user and business capabilities needed to deliver new/improved experiences.

  • Partner with Strategic Consultants to guide teams through problem definition (e.g., leveraging business canvases) and the capabilities or disciplines needed to solve problems.

  • Partner with Insights Network and Firm Strategy to understand relevant trends and business opportunities inside and outside the industry, and implications to firm efforts.

  • Conduct impact assessments to measure desirability, viability and feasibility of proposed ideas and solutions, including strategic recommendations for a minimum delightful experience (MDE) or MVP.

  • Develop and perform analysis on foundational datasets needed to support design thinking efforts, measures, business cases, and reporting.

  • Develop user experiences and/or processes that have firm-wide benefits and impact.

  • Influence high-impact, complex problems at the enterprise-level.

  • Develop measures for design effectiveness and integrating design-related measures in other areas of the firm, including communicating the impact of overall design impact/value at Edward Jones.

Position Qualifications:
  • University degree in business administration, management information systems, computer science, or related STEM field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of Information Technology in support of Business Services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of technology experience
  • 5+ years of financial services industry experience
  • 2+ years of Design Thinking experience preferred
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence and build relationships with leadership at all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to learn and communicate the principles of business development, process improvement, design thinking, data analysis, and change management to a wide variety of audiences to gain the buy-in and understanding needed to effectively deploy the tools and successfully deliver consistent quality for consultations and/or projects
  • Must be able to engage and inspire a wide variety of team members for quick and effective engagement
  • Must be able to manage/lead large-scale efforts
  • Design Thinking certification within 2 months of hire
