Project Description:
As a member of the Business Intelligence (BI) Practice, design, develop, and implement complex dashboards, reports, and visualizations across BI solutions for State and Local Government Health and Human Services (GHHS) clients of IBM Watson Health. Working in partnership with client services, implementation teams, and analytic groups, The Senior BI Developer leads the design and delivery of healthcare reporting and analytic assets for clients. They develop and actively promote approaches, standards, and best practices for reporting and data visualization to support optimal performance, flexibility, and usability for a variety of BI and analytic tools.

A qualified candidate possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and mentor BI developers and thrives in a fast-paced environment where independence and entrepreneurial ability allow them to work with minimal direction. This role requires an individual with excellent attention to detail, who can influence the direction of healthcare reporting and analytic solutions while working cross-functionally with Implementation Teams, Account Teams, Product Management, and Sales.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Data Warehouse Implementation teams, BI Administrators, Developers and Analysts for successful development of BI reporting and analytic solutions
  • Design, develop, implement and support reporting and analytics applications leveraging tools such as Cognos, Tableau, SPSS, R, Python to meet client objectives and requirements.
  • Collaborate with BI Architects to influence the design of data models and semantic layers to meet client requirements and SLAs.
  • Gather and translate requirements from clients for building insightful, compelling reports and dashboards that drive decision making
  • Define BI standards, guidelines and best practices for clients, client services, and technical teams
  • Maintain accurate and complete technical documents
  • Recommend strategies to improve performance and capacity of BI tools
  • Provide expert guidance on Business Intelligence (BI) skills and technologies
  • Provide technical training on BI tools to client and internal staff and drive BI tool adoption
  • Support BI tools upgrades in development, testing and documentation
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data issues with BI solutions.
  • Support demos, client presentations, and Business Development efforts
  • Embrace internal support methodologies and SDLC best practices and continuously strive to improve the systems and processes
  • Work with cross-functional business leaders to build scalable and repeatable processes to enable efficient delivery of BI solutions across GHHS clients
