Job Posting Enablement, a newly established team within SMB (self-serve posting products for small-to-medium sized employers), is looking for a full-stack engineer who is eager to be responsible for the user interface of innovative products that see hundreds of thousands of pageviews a day. As a full-stack, leaning front-end engineer at Indeed, you’ll bring a wealth of skill and experience in JavaScript, front-end best practices, and API first design and implementation to our product team, and be ever-vigilant about the performance, accessibility, and sustainability of the solutions you’re developing together. You and your team will release new code frequently, and use Indeed’s robust a/b testing system to understand and iterate on the changes you’re making to help people get jobs.
As a newly formed team, we have the opportunity to trailblaze best practices and architecture for a large section of our product space. On this team, engineering, design, and product management come together to lead the strategy and provide right experiences for employers posting jobs. By setting up optimized technical foundations and best practices, the team enables many other teams in the ecosystem to add meaningful features that evolve the job posting experience and capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Work alongside other engineers on product teams to build and improve the code architecture and user experiences.
- Continually improve code quality, performance, reliability and productivity in your product, with a focus on front-end technology.
- Lead initiatives, features and components design and development around user experience.
- Contribute to codebase and architecture improvements in collaboration with team members.
- Evaluate front-end technologies and contribute to decision-making conversations about applying them to your team’s product.
- Understand product infrastructure and help to define the future architecture of the product.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to enable new job posting feature delivery.
- Understand and monitor production metrics.
- 5+ years of experience planning, designing, and developing platform software.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area, or relevant work experience.
- Proven track record in delivering and maintaining scalable solutions.
- Proficiency developing object-oriented software in Javascript, Java, and related frameworks (or equivalent).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
Desired Skills
- Strong experience with React / Redux.
- Strong experience with Typescript.
- History of driving and maintaining consistency in front-end best practices.
- Experience with Springboot framework.
- Familiarity with deployment pipelines and CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with Kotlin.
- Familiarity with debugging distributed systems.
- Production monitoring expertise.
- Fast-starters with ability to pick up new platforms.
- Self-starters with ability to drive team productivity.
