Senior Research Analyst – Sustainable Development Team
Ipsos Public Affairs in Washington DC is part of Ipsos North America, conducting research for US-based clients in the government, non-profit, and corporate sustainability industries. The International Sustainable Development Team at Ipsos Public Affairs specializes in programmatic evaluations and multi-country social research for a wide variety of clients including: USAID, World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, US Department of State, World Cocoa Foundation, Vital Voices, Mondelez International, and Coca-Cola, among others.
The International Sustainable Development Team has two projects that need support
- A multi-year evaluation of a farmer livelihoods program; and
- A multi-year evaluation of social and behavioral norms programming in the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa.
To this end, the Team is looking for a Senior Research Analyst to carry out some of the following activities:
Responsibilities
- Assisting in qualitative and quantitative face-to-face research design, fieldwork management, and analysis and reporting - working closely with our colleagues in other countries. This can include: designing questionnaires and discussion guides, conducting research trainings, analyzing and coding qualitative transcripts or quantitative data, writing reports in Word or PowerPoint.
- Contributing to business development efforts by attending events, assembling pitch decks, or managing proposals.
- Building overall understanding of Ipsos offices and capabilities and creating rapport with global teams.
- Support the SusDev team on broader administrative activities.
Requirements
- Completed a bachelor’s degree or higher (Masters preferred) in a related major such as public policy, social sciences, international development, public health, or international relations
- Experience living or working abroad, particularly in the developing world
- Ideally, some previous experience conducting face-to-face research
- Ability to multitask, work well within a team, and communicate (particularly across cultures)
- Strong writing skills – both in drafting short memos and in writing long word reports
- Strong working proficiency with MS Office (specifically MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel) and working knowledge of a qualitative or quantitative analysis package
