Senior Quality Engineer – Exempt

Design and implement Quality Systems that meet all Aerospace, ISO/ AS9100, NADCAP requirements to assure products/services meet all customer expectations. Design inspection and test procedures for product validation to internal and external standards. Implement and maintain the Approved Vendors List (AVL); maintain the Process Capability Program and report all areas of noncompliance to existing requirements. Implement and maintain the Quality System as required and perform training as required. Analyze production floor and quality system data and communicate to Management as required. Assist other Quality personnel in the implementation and maintenance of Quality systems. Interacts with Customers and Suppliers as required by this job description. Assists the Quality Manager in the daily management of the Quality Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assists in the design and implementation of AS9100, NADCAP and Customer required Quality Systems.
Prepares, maintains and reviews quality assurance procedures to assure compliance with customer and/or government requirements. Develops sampling plans, quality standards, and process control instructions for use by manufacturing in monitoring and reducing variation.
Has responsibility for the Quality Department in the absence of the Quality Manager. Assists the Quality Manager in the daily functioning of the Quality Department.
Has oversight responsibility for the Quality Engineers, Quality Technician and Inspectors to ensure assigned projects are completed as scheduled.
Assists the Quality Manager in determining priorities for the Quality Department and assists the Quality Manager in recommending training for Quality personnel.
Recommend inspection and test equipment as required. Perform training as required
Verifies Receiving; In-Process and Final Inspection functions are performed in a timely manner.
Attend the Daily Production Meetings to ensure daily shipping schedules are adhered to.
Design and implement SPC and other Quality Systems. Perform analysis of data utilizing Minitab
Develop and coordinate a Process Capability Program. Perform Gage studies (GR&R, Bias, etc.) and Process Capability studies as required.
Assist in Continuous Improvement Programs. Analyze and interpret trends and execute improvements on key metrics.
Assist Engineering in the development of product and process specifications.
Maintain the NCMR system as well as assist, as required, in the Management Review Board process.
Ensure all products meet specification requirements and only compliant products move onto the next processing stage.
Assist in the Corrective Action process as needed. Assist other departments in the completion of their Corrective Actions.
Verify corrective actions for effectiveness and timeliness of completion. Conduct root-cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions and implement continuous improvement.
Assist in PPAP, VSE or other customer specific product approval processes as required. Performs First Article Inspections and creates reports. Attend customer DQSR training as required.
Interact with Customers and Suppliers as required. Maintains the Approved Suppliers List and performs Supplier Audits as required.
Assist the Quality Manager in scheduling and maintaining the Internal Audit process. Participates in customer audits of the company's quality system and processes, and participates in self-audits to identify opportunities for quality system improvement.
Trains hourly and salaried employees and suppliers in programs such as SPC, Problem Solving and Advanced Quality Planning.
Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
Must have 2 to 4 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience in toolmaking and/or a metalworking business environment.
