Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - Job Seeker, Moderation

Your JobThe teamAs part of our cross-functional Moderation Engineering team, you’ll work on solutions with data scientists, engineers, operations analysts, and product managers to keep fraudulent and illegal activity off of the Indeed platform and enforce a high bar for content posted on indeed.com. Your team will collaborate with product teams across the company to identify opportunities for improvement and points of integration with our moderation platform and tools. You’ll collaborate with our Operations team to identify new areas that require moderation and develop a path to simple content review. You will get exposure to new products as they mature on our platform and have an opportunity for impact that extends well beyond the confines of your team.
Your jobAs a QAAE (QA Automation Engineer) you will act as a liaison between dev and QA, working with them to develop and review automated solutions, delivering high quality tests and code contributions. You will partner with Product, SWEs, and members of Data Science to work towards making Indeed’s products fraud-free while minimizing escaped issues that might impact our moderation vendors. Additionally, alongside these groups, you will be a subject matter expert on everything we test and build, providing feedback around existing release processes, existing code coverage, and new potential for tests and automation opportunities in upcoming features.

• You are a QAAE (QA Automation Engineer) who enjoys working on backend systems You are passionate about testing, quality, and developing automated strategies that expand beyond the scope of automated tests
• You have experience enabling the teams with which you work to have high quality testing and best practices like CI/CD and “Push-on-Green”.
• A desire for sharing knowledge and creating opportunities for others to learn and leverage automation
  

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Software Developer, or similar Automation role
• Experience designing test structures that are easily maintainable, resilient, performant and scalable
• Proficiency in writing clean, modular, reusable code using design patterns
• Proficiency in writing thorough tests that cover edge cases with appropriate ROI for velocity and quality
• Proficiency at identifying and analyzing the root cause of complex bugs in your code as well as others’ code
• Well-versed with incrementally validating investments in innovative solutions for your team’s automation
• Experience with test frameworks such as PyTest, TestNG, RSpec, JUnit, Jasmine, Mocha, etc.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies: RESTful APIs, gRPC, or Selenium Webdriver automation with Java, Python or other object-oriented languages
• Experience in the moderation space, fraud or policy enforcement is a plus
