Senior Project Manager (SPM)The PositionThe Senior Project Manager (SPM) for Above Group shall contribute and support leadership of Project Management efforts consisting of full discipline AE and cross-discipline Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) projects for the firm. The PM shall be a graduated engineer or architect from an ABET-accredited institution who shall directly contribute to the Firm and its success through project management efforts. The PM is also responsible for contributing to the growth of the team by leading and mentoring subordinate staff in expanding their capabilities and contributions. The PM will be responsible for the five phases of project management which include conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close.

- The SPM develops organizational skills including technical writing and time management:
- Uses excellent writing skills to author basis of design (BOD) narratives, design criteria documents, Reports, and other high quality highly technical written documents as needed.
- Uses excellent writing skills to edit design specifications; respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) incorporating information from project documents, specifications, shop drawings, and design criteria; and prepare meeting notes.
- Reads relevant project correspondence and maintains project design files.
- Demonstrates willingness to work to meet deadlines as required by client demands. Reviews shop drawing submittals and travel to job sites to perform field verification.
- The SPM provides Project Management for AE projects for which Above Group is a prime consultant and MEP/FP engineering and design projects for which Above Group is either the prime or sub-consultant:
- Creates and implements robust project planning utilizing WBS and EVM framework.
- Applies PMI methodologies in project management efforts.
- Responsible for all projects assigned.
- Maintains open lines of communication with clients.
- Manages client expectations.
- Manages project team budgets.
- Manages and coordinates project schedules and due dates.
- Prepares client project presentations, studies, and reports.
- Manages weekly design team assignments.
- Assists in developing project staffing plans.
- Mentors senior- and junior-level staff.
- The SPM is a business developer and a marketer:
- Secures new sources of viable business and will be required to take the company into previously undeveloped areas of the industry.
- Develops new business relationships, generates and negotiates new revenue streams for the company.
- Required to use business contacts and relationships to ensure that the company is always aware of upcoming projects.
- Requires networking to enhance the company network.
- Promotes and maintains a high level of visibility for the Company’s services and brand and helps coordinate public relations related efforts.
- Presents the company to potential clients using different types of communication; including face-to-face meetings, presentations, telephone calls, emails, etc.
- Completes pre-qualification procedures with potential clients and consultants.
- Acts as a representative of the company at key exhibitions, conferences, and networking events.
- Adopts a team approach; works with others in pursuing common goals.
- Maintains high-level relationships with the Company’s existing clients and partners.

- Minimum of 10 years experience (post-degree)
- Professional Engineering (PE) License or Registered Architect (AIA)
- Previous experience in managing workflow for MEP/FP designers and engineers in the Healthcare or Science/Technology fields
- Operational Experience in both REVIT and AutoCAD
- Operational experience with Microsoft Project desired but not required
- PMI PMP Certification desired but not required
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- U.S. Citizen
