Job summary
TAO Commodities is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Mineral Operations based between Charlotte, NC and our project site near Camden, TN to lead early stage development efforts for a planned open pit mining operation, heavy mineral sands concentrate plant, and dry mineral separates plant. The role will involve working on all early stage aspects of mining development including environmental and permitting studies, technical studies, metallurgical testwork, budgeting and planning, property acquisition, community relations, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Applicant should have experience in mining or mineral processing in operations, EPC contracting, or consulting engineering. Prior experience with heavy mineral sands is a plus.
The role involves direct interaction with the Company’s senior management and project teams and reports to the
Vice President of Project Development.
Job description
- Coordination of the Company’s internal study efforts from a technical, schedule, and budget perspective
- Management of the Company’s engineering studies (Scoping, PFS, DFS)
- Manage 3rd party consultants and contractors engaged in background environmental studies, permitting, process, metallurgical testwork, infrastructure, and mining.
- Support the efforts of other Company employees that report to the CEO in areas of marketing, exploration, geology, business development, etc.
- Financial modeling
- Support of promotion of the business, capital raising, and marketing as may be required.
- Engagement with regulatory agencies, community leaders, and community groups as needed to achieve the objectives of the business.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 10+ years relevant experience in mining or process engineering, operations, engineering or study management.
- Heavy mineral sands experience a plus
- Professional Engineer credentials a plus
- Ability to work independently as part of a small team
