Summary:
The Planner/Scheduler II loads schedule and releases orders per schedule review process defined by Supply Chain Analyst. Monitors status of planned and released orders through shipment and invoice payment and expedites/resolves issues that delay schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above
  • Perform planning functions and make recommendations and/or decisions to support the Supply Chain Analyst
  • Provide mentorship for other schedulers in the department
  • Assist in driving key initiatives for process improvement
  • Perform "scenario" analyses to aid in optimal scheduling, priorities and decision making
  • Communicate forecast and production schedule changes to Master Planner and Supply Chain analysts
  • Modify schedules, as appropriate, due to considerations of lot sizes, lead times, inventory levels, efficient timely production utilization, and subassembly merge with final assembly requirements
  • Act as a focal point for Production, Product Engineering, Kit pull, Shipping, and Purchasing for any issues related to priorities, holds, throughput or capacity issues, part shortages, or engineering changes on released orders
  • Participate on the Customer Team as the Planning Dept. representative; Support department, business unit, and divisional goals
  • Assist Supply Chain Management or Supply Chain Analyst, as needed, regarding development of or changes to Planning or Scheduling processes
  • Provide analysis and management of WIP, Finished Goods, and Component inventory levels in accordance with the Supply Chain Analyst
  • Assist other team members, as needed, to ensure customer needs are met
  • Act as the primary customer contact for all return issues as assigned; Process Return Material
  • Authorization (RMA); Issue, return routing changes, return receipt and issue, return cost analysis, and tracking of returns through shipment and invoicing per defined guidelines
  • May provide mentorship to others in the planning activity

Other information:

  • Demonstrate understanding of the extended process of order receipt and entry, material procurement, order release, assembly, shipment and invoice payment
  • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools (Baan or equivalent) as they apply to the position
  • Effective decision making skills as it relates to providing direction to the manufacturing floor and assigning priorities to meet customer goals and objectives
  • Understanding of the extended process of return debits and credits, return receipt and routing generation, Process Feedback System (PFS) entry and order release, return/project cost analysis and return/project invoicing and shipment
  • Exercise discretion when representing the company in supply chain related decisions
  • Effective planning, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle returned product following all appropriate handling and ESD guidelines
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and the ability to represent the company in a professional manner
  • Participate in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format

  • 5+ years of experience in planning and scheduling
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment when representing the company in supply chain related decisions
  • Effective leadership skills and oral and written communication skills with coworkers and customers
  • Ability to independently drive solutions to complex supply chain issues with limited supervision
  • Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to operate on diverse project teams with minimal direction
  • Ability to effectively mentor coworkers
  • Ability to understand and apply continuous improvement tools

Education: 4 year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
