Senior Oracle Developer

Seneca Foods in Marion, NY is seeking a Senior Oracle Developer. The successful candidate will be responsible for development and support of our custom warehouse management and plant operations application, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and production. This application supports 8 million square feet of warehouse operations and our many plant locations across the country. It directly supports our mission to feed the world safe and nutritious products that are valued and enjoyed by families everywhere. We stand on our own by supporting our applications portfolio and IT operations internally, offering long-term stability while continuously investing in technology and innovation. We are further investing in advancing this application to meet our business needs and looking for a forward-thinking, solution-oriented developer to be part of a team that enjoys a high degree of collaboration with and that is integral with the overall business operation.

Position Summary:

• Play a leadership role as a senior IT professional. Take initiative to work collaboratively. Establishes positive working relationships across the organization.
• Responsible for software development activities including: authoring of requirements, solution specifications, test plans; development and testing of custom software.
• Provide technical input and recommendations on specific software solutions.
• Support business units by researching issues and questions to determine root cause, identify course of action and bring issue/question to resolution.
• Adhere to the software development process including utilizing iterative design approaches and concepts, creating and filing appropriate documentation as prescribed by the process. Utilize the standardized support tools established for IT.
• Manage your time and daily activities to satisfy work assignments, performance and deliverables. Communicate status of work assignments.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related field
• Oracle PL/SQL experience required
• Oracle Forms, Reports, APEX desired
• HTML5 / JavaScript a plus
• Ability to build positive working relationships across the organization, service oriented
• Five plus years of related experience
