Job Description
TIAG is now hiring a Senior Network Engineer to join our team at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Engineering & Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) in Port Hueneme, CA. Candidates must possess an active Secret clearance to be considered. This role will be responsible for supporting the Control System Test Bed (CSTB) team to deliver and operate an environment for system integration, cyber engineering, test and evaluation of Facility-Related Control Systems (FRCS) infrastructures. This test bed is the first of its kind, enabling NAVFAC to provide both cybersecurity and operational testing from a single location. The Senior Network Engineer will provide subject matter expertise to the project team and support the the design, implementation, documentation, and troubleshooting of the environment(s) required for testing. Responsibilities include:
  • Helps to prepare plans for implementation of present and future requirements.
  • Provides expert level technical, administration, and engineering support on CISCO networks
  • Monitors, performance tunes, troubleshoots and resolves systems problems to ensure system availability.
  • Provides infrastructure architecture recommendations.
  • Maintains systems integrity through change control and problem management procedures and communication with internal customers.
  • Accomplishes department objectives by leading staff; organizing and monitoring work processes.
  • Attends and participates in team meetings, training sessions, and company-sponsored programs as required.
  • Anticipates future network requirements, and researches and analyzes emerging technologies and applies them to business needs.
Required qualifications:
  • DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science OR a related field desired
  • CCNA & CCNP preferred, CCIE desired
  • Five years’ experience related to network design and administration
  • Minimum certification as IAT Level II per DoD 8570.01, or successor
  • Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) experience
  • Software-defined networking experience, preferably in Operational Technology (OT)
  • Strong knowledge of Network Protocols and OS (OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, BGP, TCP/IP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of VPN, firewalls, IPS, load balancing, Cisco Access Points and Controllers
  • Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) experience
  • Ability to manage time well to meet assigned milestones
  • Strong team player with proven experience and ability to collaborate internally among teams and externally among application and business units
  • Extremely self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
