Highly Proactive and Innovative Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Humanistic Robotics inc. is seeking a highly proactive and innovative senior mechanical design engineer with the following qualities to work in Bristol Pa. HRI is looking for a very talented engineer to help support ongoing landmine and IED clearance roller efforts as well as be part of designing, prototyping, testing and manufacturing its new generation of mine rollers as well as all other adjacent products.

HRI is doing new product development, and seeking a highly experienced engineer with specialization in the automotive industry who is highly competent in suspension design, bearing and bushing selection, as well as confident managing a ground-up entire project themselves, and has the experience and knowhow to prove it. We're looking for a great candidate with vision, drive and the ability to think for themselves and take on a big project.

  • Highly motivated self starter, proactive and strategic.
  • Masters degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical engineering and 5-10 years of professional experience in relatable applications.
  • Very comfortable in a small company environment, highly responsible and accountable.
  • Can work well in teams or alone. Comfortable with a collaborative design process.
  • A good explainer/teacher who is comfortable working with people in a multidisciplinary environment and can smoothly cross the engineer/non engineer gap.
  • Great research and development skills. A genuine interest in diving into and analyzing new ideas and ranking options.
  • Highly experienced with all typical metal fabrication techniques (cnc, plasma, waterjet, welding, etc) comfortable and fluent in a machine shop environment and interfacing with vendors.
  • Highly experienced with military ground vehicle platforms and off road vehicles, suspension systems, hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Deeply experienced and comfortable with solidworks, FEA, PDM etc. Surfacing experience would be nice as well.
  • Proficient in generating and detailing drawing packages, fluent with tolerancing and GD&T.
  • Comfortable and familiar with an ISO 9001 documentation process.
  • Proficient in generating production schedules, gannt charts and managing production runs to a clean conclusion.
  • Overall interested and excited to design new things to help cause positive change throughout the world.
  • Interest in domestic and international travel.

Job Duties Include:

  • Design and documentation of new products and modifications/changes to existing products around customer needs.
  • Customer interface and training efforts
  • Testing of new product components, documentation and interfacing with testing houses
  • Production documentation and interface with vendors, assembly coordination and planning
