LinkedIn Tag: #LI-PS1 How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) Deltas Onboard Services, Material Logistics team oversees the planning, distribution, and delivery of all product used in the passenger cabin. The role of the master data specialist is to lead the development of lifecycles, processes, and procedures for setting up and maintaining the controlling master data for IFS logistics such as item masters, locations, items sources, accounting information, etc. This includes integration into product development and exit processes and meeting governance standards for segregation of duties.
Enter and maintain master data to support business changes such as product launches, sunsets, new suppliers and warehouses, and updates to accounting
Work closely across organizational boundaries with the system stakeholders of the OBS planning, service delivery, warehousing and inventory reconciliation, as well as outside OBS with Cargo-DLCC, supply chain management, finance, and tax teams as well as SAP Centre of Excellence to support any questions, issues or changes needed to improve the productivity in the day-to-day activities
Lead root cause analysis and resolution of master data related issues including work across organizations as appropriate
Participate in improvement projects to reduce lead-times, order pattern variability, and waste
Manage multiple systems keeping master data inline through all systems utilized by IFS Logistics
Review existing methods of data management to make recommendations on streamlining current processes
Prepare weekly and monthly KPI reports measuring the activities and performance of the Master Data team to be reviewed by management
Be well versed in all OBS processes to help brainstorm process improvement opportunities What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
At least 1 year in a master data management, customer service, or demand planning role. 3 years are required if no degree
Excellent problem resolution and communication skills
Excellent at using Microsoft Excel. Use of SQL, SAS, or other data tools is a must
Domestic and international travel is required
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc. What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
A bachelor degree in supply chain, IT, business management, or related field is preferred but not required
Knowledge and use of SAP materials management is a plus
