Job Description
Job Summary

    The Senior Marketing Specialist will develop and implement hospital marketing, communication and community relations strategies.

  • Responsible for writing, editing and production of weekly newsletter.
  • Implements internal communication plans, including employee forums, newsletters, publications, presentations, etc.
  • Develops collateral materials that promote hospital services and providers,
  • Supports the activation of hospital sponsorships and community partnerships, including special events.
Minimum QualificationsEducation/Training
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism/Communications or related field. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
Experience
  • Requires 3-5 years’ experience in marketing and communications, media relations, writing/editing and web. Healthcare experience preferred.
License/Certification/Registration
  • No special certification, registration or license required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent writing, editing, copyediting, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Graphic design experience is a plus!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops marketing and communications content to support the department’s strategic marketing goals and objectives
    • Leads content development of weekly internal e-newsletter. Provides direction and oversight to creative design partner as needed.
    • Develops and implements marketing and communication plans for internal and external campaigns.
      • Writes and edits promotional materials (e.g. copy for brochures, postcards, event flyers/posters, signage)
      • Oversees visual marketing platforms: exterior and internal digital signage, conference room directory, digital monitors, and bulletin boards
      • Coordinates photography and videography needs - accompanies vendors during photo and video shoots
      • Provides direction and oversight to creative design partner as needed
    • Develops consumer-friendly content for social media platforms in partnership with Corporate Digital Marketing Team. Acts as a liaison between department and digital marketing team to develop quarterly editorial calendars to support hospital services and programs.
    • Coordinates and executes community relations activities and special events.
      • Works with third party vendors; Coordinates event logistics.
      • Schedules meeting locations classes and community groups
    • Performs marketing administrative duties as required
      • May serve as first impressions representative for marketing office (Greets and welcome department visitors and guests)
      • Ensures vendors are paid in a timely manner
      • Manages supplies and inventory of promotional items
  • Development: Maintains current knowledge and develops new knowledge
    • Identifies learning needs in self and initiates actions to address these education needs.
    • Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department.
    • Meets all mandatory obligations.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends and best practices in community-based programming and community benefit reporting.
  • Organizational Knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments
    • Participates on inter-departmental teams and committees, communicating unit knowledge as appropriate.
    • Provides department/unit with information and knowledge acquired during participation with interdepartmental teams and committees.
    • Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff, supervisors, and managers both inside and outside the department
