Provides expert technical direction at a program level. This senior-level role is responsible for leading the planning, development, execution, and reporting of tests for complex systems and equipment. The individual will collaborate with various teams across IT to identify the impacts of test requirements and improve the overall quality of the final deliverables. As a subject matter expert (SME), this person will possess strong communication skills and will be expected to partner with business and technical groups in order to anticipate the effects of testing and bring timely resolution to critical issues. As a mentor to the team, this person will provide expert advice and direction, will coordinate and drive continual process improvement, and provide input to management for annual performance reviews. This person will also provide industry knowledge regarding test strategy development, test R&D activities and technical support.
The Main Responsibilities- Work in a fast-moving environment to take our organization to the next level including test automation, continuous integration & development, and multi-platform test strategy optimization
- Create the next generation strategy of testing frameworks, release techniques and infrastructure to increase the speed of release cycles, and allow for constant high-quality production
- Mentor junior members of the team in best practice and testing methodology
- Defines, evolves and optimizes existing processes across multiple functions
- Regularly collaborate outside of the immediate team to solve problems and share best practices
- Collaborate with other teams to define project goals including scope, quality and timeframe
- Creates flexible project plan, including requirement definition, task definition, talent assignment, capacity planning and timeframes
- Includes budget preparation and tracking
- Directs team to completion, modifying project plans as necessary
- Communicates project plan and progress to team and Senior Leadership
- Ensures planned capacity will deliver workload on time, quality and budget
- Oversees the creation of Functional / End to End / Solution Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports utilized by local, remote, external, and global testing teams and map them against Epics, Capabilities, Features, User Stories in JIRA and validate Acceptance Criteria
- Actively participates in PI Planning events and Scrum ceremonies
- Work in SAFe platform with Value Streams and Agile Release Trains (VS/ART) organization model and act as ART level Test Lead
- Design and implementation of test automation to independently test product components utilizing Automation tools
- Assists with coordination of testing efforts between multiple (local, remote, and global) testing teams. Work with architects, development and UAT teams to manage the dependencies and risks pertaining to testing efforts
- Gather and analyze software quality and performance metrics throughout the software development life cycle using Splunk Reports / JIRA dashboard / Power BI queries
- Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate day to day testing activities in accordance with appropriate standards, methods and procedures and provide status on issues through testing metrics and dashboards in a timely fashion and manage escalations appropriately
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of QA experience or Master’s Degree with 8+ years of QA experience
- Experience leading implementation of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
- Experience in Test Automation tools like Robot, SOAP or REST based web services using SOA Test or SOAP UI, Selenium, UFT, Postman, etc.,
- Experience with testing in SAFe Agile environment
- Experience with JIRA and be able to produce JIRA dashboard and Power BI Queries
- Experience implementing CI/CD/CT pipeline
- Experience with GIT/Jenkins/Sonar Cube tools
- Excellent technical acumen and ability to learn new software quickly with ‘Growth Mindset’
- Deep interest and curiosity for learning and passion for QA preferred
- Enthusiastic and fun individual with an attitude of team empowerment
- Good communication skills and strong knowledge of traditional testing methodologies
- Ability to Work effectively under high-pressure situations within a dynamic team environment following QA standards and best practices to ensure the highest level of quality
