Breethe is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team in the development of a portable artificial lung (ECMO). Responsibilities include supporting the development and manufacturing of a device containing digital controls, sensors, batteries, user controls/displays, pneumatics, fluidics, pump drives and other mechanical systems that communicate with blood and oxygen. This individual must have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Electromechanical assembly, prototyping and fabrication.
- Inspection of mechanical components.
- Verification of specifications by measuring and testing.
- Development and assembly of test fixtures.
- Refinement of manufacturing processes.
- Support of laboratory operations and testing.
- Conduct experiments and collect data.
- Work as an integral member of the product development team throughout the product lifecycle, working with mechanical, electrical, software and firmware engineers.
Experience
- Five years of experience in a design, development, or manufacturing environment
- Engineering documentation, assembly drawings, manufacturing procedures
- Experience with electromechanical devices
- Ability to use a variety of machine and hand tools
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office
Education Requirements
- Associates degree in a technical field, preferably electrical or mechanical
