Senior Investment Analyst, Finance & Administration
Job Overview
Support Deloitte’s Chief Investment Officer and team responsible for providing investment guidance, strategy and recommendations to Deloitte Retirement Committee, DTTS Retirement Committee, Board of the Deloitte Foundation (collectively, “Governance Committees”), and Deloitte/DTTS Management. Assist with the development and delivery of periodic investment reports and insights to the Governance Committees and Management and conduct ongoing investment due diligence, oversight, and coordination of external investment advisors/consultants and underlying investments.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day oversight and monitoring of investment portfolios, including Deloitte Pension Plans, Deloitte Defined Contribution Plans, DTTS Pension Plan, DTTS Defined Contribution Plans, Deloitte Rabbi Trust portfolio, Deloitte Foundation portfolio, and Deloitte Cash Account (collectively, the “Portfolios”)
- Develop updates and analysis for Governance Committees and Management, including but not limited to investment research, strategic asset allocation decisions, liquidity preferences, risk/return objectives and performance of the relevant Portfolios’ assets
- Provide ongoing investment oversight and analysis of Portfolios and underlying investments, including monitoring net of fee returns, risk and/or funded status and reviewing most recent documentation for Portfolios’ investments
- Undertake investment strategy and/or asset-liability studies for the purpose of recommending long-term asset allocation objectives and permissible ranges for each asset class
- Attend periodic meetings with investment advisers/consultants and underlying investment managers to capture meeting notes/minutes and formally track interactions in investment due diligence tracking tool
- Coordinate with Deloitte’s National Office of Independence and other parties involved with the financial management and investment of the Portfolios’ assets
- Act as liaison between the investment advisers/consultants and other parties involved with the financial management and investment of the Portfolios’ assets
- Monitor the Portfolios’ asset allocations to ensure alignment with stated objectives
- Partner with Investment Consultant on Defined Contribution Plan design and optimization initiatives
- Work with the applicable investment advisers/consultants to carry out responsibilities for risk measurement, monitoring, and management of performance results
- Periodically, conduct and report the results of an evaluation of the Investment Advisers’/consultants’ performance
- Serve as member/contributor of working groups developed to conduct special projects related to the Portfolios
- Assist with the build-out and customization of investment due diligence tracking tool
- Monitor industry trends to help inform any potential changes to investment objectives or strategy
- Assist in the periodic review and updating of Investment Policy Statements and internal policies and procedures
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business or related field is required
- Minimum of 2-4+ years of relevant generalist investment experience
- Experience working on behalf of an Investment/Retirement Committee and/or Treasury function
- Previous experience conducting due diligence assessments of third party investment managers on behalf of a Pension Plan/Foundation/Endowment Administrator
- Previous experience working within the professional services industry with a focus on investment management
- Strong client management and consulting experience
- Previous experience developing policies/procedures and navigating regulatory requirements (e.g., ERISA)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
- Works proactively; is solution-driven; responds promptly to management outreach
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), investment data platforms, and Tableau; adept with learning new technologies
- Ability to work independently
- Well organized and has a high degree of focus on details and logistics
- Master’s Degree and/or CFA Certification desirable, though not required
