ResponsibilitiesThis position of Information System Security Officer (ISSO) supports the continuous monitoring and authorization efforts of multiple classified information systems under the direction of the Information System Security Manager (ISSM). Performing a variety of technical, and non-technical Cyber Security duties that include:
- Training, and assisting users of information systems to ensure security procedures are followed.
- Investigating issues of concern through technical reviews, interviews, or other appropriate investigative steps.
- Conducting technical compliance assessments of information systems in accordance with established standards.
- Coordinating with system administrators, ISSMs, and information system owners to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Under the guidance of the ISSM, create or maintain policies, procedures, diagrams, or artifacts needed in support of ATO package submissions.
- Conducting technical compliance assessments of information systems in accordance with established standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in the areas of cybersecurity, compliance, or information technology
- BS degree in a related field
- May substitute additional experience for education
- Must obtain CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a classified environment preferred, but not required
- Existing CompTIA Security+ certification, or equivalent DOD 8570.01-M IAM level 1 certification
- Previous experience configuring and deploying common SIEM and vulnerability scanning tools.
Security Requirement:
- Current in scope Top Secret security clearance is required.
