Job Description
We are seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to join our team. To support system architecture, design, configure, manage GIS data and associated systems, and support our growing base of amazing clients. We are open to remote candidates for this role.
Our team supports clients across the county in many industries ranging from state and local governments, utility providers, transportation, natural resources, forestry, and fish and wildlife. The GIS Analyst selected will have the opportunity to work on many exciting projects in many of these industries. The Senior GIS Analyst is responsible for performing a wide variety of production tasks for Geospatial projects and data management. They assist and support Project Managers and Developers in meeting project deliverable requirements and deadlines.
The ideal candidate will be inspired by data analysis and system/solution development to gain insight and innovation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide consulting in best practices for data management including workflows, tools, governance models, and integration patterns.
- Lead in the design and development of enterprise geographic information systems.
- Performing data model design and development tasks.
- Work tightly with our development team to provide GIS support, training, and assistance as needed.
- Assisting in documenting and developing client business application requirements.
- Apply sophisticated geospatial analysis techniques to data sets.
- Development and maintenance of ESRI-based GIS solutions and applications.
- Perform cartographic tasks to develop end user map products.
- Provide on-going support for GIS programs and functions requiring programming and analysis.
- Troubleshoot complex problems associated with existing GIS applications, tools, and data.
- Working cooperatively with Project Managers and peers to complete assigned work.
Qualifications
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS a successful candidate should have the following but not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college in GIS, Surveying, engineering, Geography, Information Systems, or related degree, and at least eight years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Software (Desktop and Extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise Server & Portal).
- Management of ESRI versions and versioning schemes.
- Expertise with ArcGIS Server and geodatabases.
- Understanding of technologies and how to produce ArcGIS data services, manage caching, and provide additional support for data or service consumers such as web-GIS applications and ArcObjects.
- Knowledge of ESRI Production Mapping suite of tools, including Data Reviewer, Workflow Manager, Task Assistant Manager.
- Experience with LRS and/or Esri’s R&H is a plus
- Experience with SQL Server and Oracle database development and use.
- Fluency in scripting languages and tools such as: SQL, Python, ArcPy, .NET, and other spatial data processing tools
- Experience producing quality cartographic products using both Esri and TileMill.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Require minimal direction in daily operation and problem resolution.
- Strong active listening, feedback and problem solving skills.
- Technical expertise obtaining, manipulating, and organizing data as well as defining, planning, and implementing analysis and processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of team with excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
- Working knowledge of open source GIS solutions is preferred.
