The Opportunity
We’re hiring for a Fund Accountant to sit in our Jericho, NY office. Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following: Responsibilities:
  • Managing Hedge Funds and Funds of Funds accounts for the department
  • Accountable for all fund activities of designated accounts from fund inception to closure
  • Advise faculty on agency policies and guidelines
  • Manage purchasing transactions
  • Maintain good working relationships with all client contacts, including investment professionals, investors, audit lawyers, and banking personnel
  • Reviewing quarterly and annual financial work paper packages, including portfolio schedules, accruals and partner capital allocations
  • Reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes, and coordinating annual audits
  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
  • Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
  • Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
  • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
  • Report analysis and findings to management team
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience working with Hedge Funds and/or Funds of Funds for 3+ years
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidates must demonstrate initiative to be able to perform well under pressure and simultaneously handle multiple assignment
  • Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
  • Detail and deadline-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
